Terpsichore Dance and Theatre Studio teaches ballet classes thinking in the choreography, music and the student's skill. When the instructor in Terpsichore decides what it is going to be the best for a performance ballet dance in one of our shows, our instructor always analyses whether classical ballet or  modern ballet is the way to take.

Contrary to classical ballet, for modern ballet, our director in charge will choose costumes that are not as complex as the classical ballet because the stage, music and costumes are in the background, being the dancer in the foreground.

In between these two ballet styles dance,​ there are other styles of ballet dance such as romantic ballet, neoclassical ballet, and contemporary ballet which will be taught by our teachers in our dance studio located in 1280 Hopmeadow street, Simsbury, CT  Going deep about our ballet definition, in romantic ballet, the pointe  work of female dancers, in addition of pointe shoes and long and flowy tutus, are the basics of this dance.The perception is that the  dancers look like flying when they are dancing. Now in the neoclassical ballet, the abstract is the main characteristic. It is not clear the stage, plot or costume and the neoclassical music is the choice. Contemporary ballet is open to any combination of ballet. The dancer no necessary use pointe shoes and the music can include vocal and acting performance.
